Palworld TCG Rarities Explained: Every Tier and the Chase Cards

Flip over any Palworld TCG card and you will find a little code after the card number: C, UC, R, RR, or something spicier like OSR. Here is what every tier means, how the parallel system works, and which cards collectors are actually chasing in Dawn of Palpagos.

The base rarities

Every card in the 100 card BP01 base set falls into one of four tiers:

Base rarity is about availability, not just power. Plenty of Commons see real play (trial decks are built from them), so do not sleeve shame your Commons.

The parallel tiers: where the chase begins

Here is the part that trips up new collectors: the premium cards in Palworld TCG are mostly parallels, alternate art versions of cards that already exist in the base set. Same name, same stats, same rules text, much fancier art and foil. Dawn of Palpagos adds 50 parallel variants on top of the 100 base cards.

You can spot a parallel by the code after its card number. The tiers we have catalogued so far include SR (Super Rare), SP (Special), and OSR (Over Super Rare), with more exotic codes like SSP appearing on promos and event cards. OSR full arts of fan favorite Pals are shaping up to be the signature chase cards of the set.

What about pull rates?

Straight answer: Bushiroad has not published pull rates for Dawn of Palpagos, and anyone claiming exact odds before launch is guessing. What is officially confirmed:

• 7 cards per booster pack
• 12 packs per booster box
• 12 boxes per case
• Every rarity, including parallels, appears in booster packs

Once launch product is opened at scale, real pull data will surface from the community, and we will update this guide when it does. Until then, ignore the confident percentage charts floating around.

What the chase cards are going for

Pre-launch, the serious money is in limited promos and early parallels. A snapshot from the live listings we track: sellers asking $600 and up for OSR and SSP Jormuntide parallels, $250 to $750 for the TSP Elphidran Aqua promo, and four figures for convention exclusive foil soul cards. Asking prices are not sold prices, and pre-launch markets are pure hype fuel, but it tells you where collector attention is pointed.
